On the eve of my 22nd birthday, my best friend Manuel took me to visit Casumo casino. I had always been curious of casinos, and my best friend was a frequent visitor. So, he thought it was the ideal birthday gift for me.

When we entered the casino proper, Manuel left me for a moment and headed to a booth, where he gave a cashier some money. The cashier handed him something, and he headed back to where I was. I saw that it was a bag of chips, which he handed over to me. Then he asked me what I wanted to play.

I’d always wanted play cards. My father had lots of card game books lying around the house when I was young. I read one and quickly became a fan. At one point, I even wanted to pursue a career as a dealer. So first, I chose the card tables. Blackjack, baccarat, poker, I tried them all.

Next, I tried the slots. There were many different types, each with their own themes: jungle, space, even some designed after famous movies.

But we only gambled at Casumo casino until we ran out of chips. I almost bought more chips, but remembered to my chagrin that I only had enough money to last the end of the month.
